Greg Fishel is a retired American meteorologist who is well-known for his long career at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was born on February 19, 1957, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Fishel started his career in broadcasting in the late 1970s and joined WRAL-TV in 1981.
Fishel became the chief meteorologist at WRAL-TV and was a familiar face to viewers in the Raleigh-Durham area for over 30 years. He was known for his expertise in severe weather coverage, particularly during hurricanes and winter storms.
In addition to his work at WRAL-TV, Fishel was also a certified consulting meteorologist and a member of the American Meteorological Society. He has received numerous awards for his work, including multiple Emmy Awards for best weather anchor.
Fishel retired from WRAL-TV in 2019 but continues to be involved in meteorology through speaking engagements and consulting work. He is also active on social media, where he shares weather updates and interacts with fans.
